Earth Day on Saturday in Decorah showed off Mother Earth at her best--plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the 60s.

In short, it was a good day to hold a March for Science, an event that drew hundreds of people to walk from Mary Christopher Park to the Winneshiek County Courthouse in support of the sciences and the scientific method.

And it was also a perfect day to plant trees.  Volunteers helped to plant almost 60 new trees along Montgomery Street, helping the Decorah Tree Board to beautify the city.

There were numerous other events in observance of Earth Day, with one factor in common--large crowds because of the perfect weekend weather.
