1,000 signatures still needed to reach the goal of 5,000 signatures on a petition to save Decorah Penney's store

With just under 24 hours left until the deadline to gather 5,000 signatures on a petition to JC Penney's to save the Decorah store, 4,000 signatures had been collected as of shortly before 9:00 a.m. Monday.

Organizers of the petition drive are asking people to post messages on their Facebook pages, asking their friends and relatives to sign the petition if they haven't done so yet.  You can link to either https://www.change.org/p/marvin-ellison-save-the-downtown-decorah-iowa-jc-penney-store or to www.decorahareachamber.com.

Monday is also the final day of the "Vote with our Wallets" effort, which encourages everyone to visit the Decorah JCPenney store and make any purchase, large or small, to prove to the JCPenney leadership the impact and the value their store has in the greater Decorah community.
