Effort to save Decorah's JC Penney's store enters the "Vote With Your Wallet" phase

The Decorah group working to try to save the local Penney's store is just 1,500 signatures away from its goal of getting 5,000 names on a petition by the end of Monday.

Now the group is ramping up its efforts in the final days.  Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kristina Wiltgen says the group is encouraging people to stop in at the store between now and Monday to "vote with our wallets."

Says Wiltgen, "Any purchase large or small, a pair of socks or a belt, let's prove to the JC Penney leadership the impact and the value they have in the greater Decorah community."
