State officials from the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division in Des Moines got a first-hand look Tuesday at the Toppling Goliath facilities in Decorah.
IABD's Stephen Larson and Robert Bailey toured TG's current brewery on Old Stage Road and its new facility being built in the Decorah Business Park, then capped off their visit with a stop at Toppling Goliath's College Drive sampling room.
The Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division appointed a 15-member working group last year which began a review of Iowa's alcohol laws. The group recommended several changes, including a change in the law which would allow breweries to sell wine at their sampling rooms. That bill is currently being discussed by the Iowa Senate. Another study group will be appointed soon to review some of the alcohol laws the first group didn't have time to discuss.
