2017-2018 budget approved for Decorah School District

Without public comment, the Decorah Community School Board approved the 2017-18 budget on Monday night. The budget is set for $30,391,779.

The tax rate per $1,000 taxable valuation will drop from $14.74270 to $14.16266. This is due primarily to a decrease in the cash reserve levy and the district having a strong balance in the Management Levy. However, the taxable valuations in the district also increased by over $15 million to $600,054,702.
