Winneshiek Medical Center has five "crash carts" placed throughout the hospital, with monitor defibrillators that can provide lifesaving shocks to the heart.
The hospital will be replacing its defibrillators with five new units which have Automatic External Defibrillation capabilities which can analyze the heart rhythm to determine if a shockable rhythm exists. These units also provide End Title Carbon Dioxide monitoring.
The new defibrillators will cost $57,825.
