Luther College junior Kevin Honz of Barnhart, Missouri, has been awarded a $10,000 Rossing Physics Scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year. The Rossing scholarship is awarded annually to physics students of exceptional merit.
It's the second scholarship award for Honz, who was also awarded a $7,500 Goldwater Scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year. The Goldwater Scholarship is awarded to students in the field of mathematics, science and engineering.
Honz is a mathematics and physics double major at Luther. Upon graduation from Luther, he plans to pursue a doctoral degree in condensed matter physics.
