4-H members from Allamakee and Winneshiek Counties have returned from a seven-day trip to Springfield, Illinois, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

The 4-Hers have been taking part in the Citizenship Program of 4-H, which is aimed at teaching skills that will make them better citizens and more successful individuals.
 
The 4-Hers visited national landmarks including the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum & Tomb, Gettysburg Visitor Center & Military Fields, the U.S. Capitol, the Ronald Reagan International Trade Building, the Peterson House, Ford's Theatre, the Holocaust Museum, National Archives, Union Station, Pentagon 911 Memorial, Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, Washington DC Presidential and War Monuments and Memorials, as well as Smithsonian Museums.

Winneshiek County 4-H members included Karter Einck, Katie Golly, Maria Hendrickson, Tyler Irwin, Kaylee Knight, Anya Lovstuen, Abby Moen, Steven Sexton, and Gavin Sims.
 
Winneshiek County 4-H chaperones included Michelle Einck, Ellen Sexton, Beth Sims, LeRoy McClintock, Karl Hendrickson, Chris Irwin, Sharon Kurt, and Lynette Houser, Regional Youth Coordinator.
