Ten of the last twelve months in Decorah have now had temperatures higher than average.
Decorah meteorologist Richard Bernatz says March of 2017 averaged 34.6 degrees, which is 1.9 degrees warmer than the average from the past 124 years.
No record high temperatures were reached in March in Decorah, even though the thermometer reached 65 degrees March 6th and 7th.
March of 2017 also continued the trend of wetter months than average. 2.42 inches of precipitation was recorded, which was 0.53 inches more than the 125-year average. Five of the past 12 months in Decorah ranked in the top ten wettest for their respective month. For the past 12 months, over 58 inches of precipitation has fallen, which is more than 25 inches higher than the average.
