How can we grow connections, collaborations, and cooperation across the Driftless region to create a strong, thriving place to live?
That's the question a crowd of more than three dozen people tackled Monday night at the Decorah Public Library.
The discussion was held as a follow-up to Robert Wolf's book, "Building the Agricultural City." Noted Wolf about the turnout, "People are passionate about the cooperative economy."
The group discussed ideas such as small local investment groups, aquaponics projects which grow both pants and fish, arts promotion, bioregionalism, rural livelihood, wealth retention, regional food production and cooperative development.
Wolf says a follow-up meeting will be held in the near future in Elkader.
