Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is looking for future recipients of prayer shawls

The Prayer Shawl Ministry at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Decorah is looking for names of those who would appreciate receiving a shawl.

Since 2005, when the Prayer Shawl Ministry began at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, approximately 400 hand-crafted items have been given to church members and community members.  Church members recently donated prayer shawls to Family Services of Northeast Iowa and to the Winneshiek Medical Center Hospice program. 

Crafters meet monthly from September through May to knit and crochet shawls, lap blankets and afghans.

Good Shepherd Prayer Shawl Ministry gives a completed shawl to someone as a reminder of God's presence in times of need or joy.  If you know of someone in either situation who would appreciate a shawl, contact Prayer Shawl Ministry Coordinators Joyce Epperly at epperlyj@outlook.com or Ruth Bruce at ruthyoungbruce@gmail.com.
