Letter writing campaign aims to save Decorah's JC Penney's store

The Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce has begun a letter writing campaign to persuade the JC Penney's chain not to close its Decorah store.

The store was one of 138 stores selected for closing by the company, which is headquartered in Plano, Texas.

The letter states, "This store has achieved great things for your brand" and mentions recent awards and recognitions, including the Founders Award, Top Profit in Region and Top store in the company for "Active Wars" in 2015 and
Penney's Day Battle Regions 3 Winner, Father's Day Battle Region 3 Winner and Greet Squad winner in 2016.
