Decorah FFA member Blake Courtney elected to leadership post

Decorah FFA member Blake Courtney is the new vice president of Iowa's FFA Northwest Sub-District.

Blake was elected by his peers after several rounds of balloting at a recent District FFA meeting.  Courtney ran against fellow Decorah FFA Member Hailey Nierling for the position—and they tied three times before a fourth tie breaker went Courtney's way.

"It's really unfortunate two outstanding Decorah FFA members were balloted to compete against each other for one District FFA Office," Decorah FFA Advisor Joni Bruvold, but she added, "We are very fortunate to have this quality of members leading our own chapter."
