(Vickie e-mails: "What is up with the traffic lights at the intersection of Montgomery Street and Highway 9? Anyone who travels that street, on their way home from work or school, finds themselves sitting through several traffic lights, just trying to get onto the highway. I have sat through five or six rounds of signals on occasion, and sometimes the line of cars stretches all the way back to Thrifty White Pharmacy. I have started going the long way around to the highway, just to avoid this congestion nightmare."):
Mr. Answer Person says: "For once, I have good news to deliver! New cameras have been installed at the intersection. These cameras will tie into the equipment that regulates the traffic lights. The hope is that the new system will do a better job of spotting congestion and changing the traffic lights accordingly.
It's important to note these are NOT speeding ticket cameras!"
