Public hearing for Decorah Schools 2017-18 budget set

The Decorah Community School Board has set 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 10th, for a public hearing regarding the school district's proposed 2017-18 budget. The proposed budget is $30,391,779.  It is projected to be slightly less than the final budget figure for the current budget.

The tax rate per $1,000 taxable valuation will drop from $14.74270 to $14.16266. This is due primarily to a decrease in the cash reserve levy and the district having a strong balance in the Management Levy.
