A federal judge has sentenced 34-year-old Trevor Satrom, a Decorah native living in Fayette County, to five years probation with special conditions.
Satrom last fall admitted to having three pipe bombs and one pressure cooker bomb in his apartment. His admission came as part of a guilty plea to one count of possession of a National Firearms Act device not registered to him.
Under the plea agreement, Satrom will wear a GPS monitor and will live with his parents in Decorah.
Satrom has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder following his deployment in Afghanistan. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has placed him on 100 percent disability.
