The CEO of Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging says state budget cuts will force nearly $100,000 in spending reductions by the local agency.
Donna Harvey, in a newsletter published by the agency, says the agency's Board of Directors will work on how to address the budget shortfall, but "more than likely (we'll) have waiting lists for services including meals, which we have always been able to avoid."
Harvey says half of state funds received by NEI3A underwrite the cost of home-delivered meals and congregate meals, while the other half covers support services such as adult day care, case management and other programs.
Harvey says NEI3A will address not only the current budget cuts, but also projected budget cuts in upcoming years.
