It's shaping up as a very busy construction season for Skyline Construction and Minnowa Construction.
The company on Tuesday was the low bidder on three major road projects in Iowa, as well as being the subcontractor on two other projects.
The largest project will take place in Bremer County. Skyline Construction's bid of $12,084,334.40 for a pavement replacement project was more than $1 million lower than the next lowest bid from Croell, Inc.
Skyline's Minnesota-based counterpart, Minnowa Construction of Harmony, was the low bidder on a Linn County project. Minnowa will be paid $6,663,820.95 to install a new bridge.
In Howard County, it's Skyline Construction that will handle a culvert replacement project for $317,369.00.
Skyline will also work as a subcontractor to Mathy Construction on road projects in Bremer and Fayette counties.
When all five projects are totaled, they represent more than $20 million in road work this summer for the company and its 475 employees.
