Winneshiek County passes road dust abatement prices

The Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors has approved a $20 fee for all dust control applications starting in 2017.

The applicator will also need to send a copy of their liability insurance policy that shows they are carrying adequate insurance.  The policy will need to list Winneshiek County as an additional insured, to protect Winneshiek County from liability lawsuits that may be filed as a result of the applicator's negligent actions, intentional or not. 

The new rules also will apply to all private individuals who wish to apply their own dust control.  All dust control applications need to be received in the Engineers Office by May 1st.
