First eagle's egg of the season laid in Decorah

Bald eagles in Decorah are in egg-laying season.

The first egg of the webcam nests was laid Sunday evening at the Decorah North nest.  Raptor Resource Project officials say the egg was laid at 5:53 p.,m. Sunday, "catching many of us by surprise!"

No eggs have been laid yet at the Decorah Hatchery nests, but the first egg there could come at any time.
