Two vehicle crash causes $25,000 in damages

An early morning accident on Highway 150 Friday resulted in $25,000 in damages and an arrest.

42-year-old Travis McIntyre of Eldorado was traveling south on Highway 150 at 7:33 a.m. on Friday when he crossed the center line and met 18-year-old Levi Guenther of West Union. McIntyre attempted to get back into his lane but was struck by Guenther. 

The Iowa State Patrol arrested McIntyre for 2nd offense operating while under the influence and booked him in the Winneshiek County Jail.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office conducted the accident investigation and cited McIntyre for driving on the wrong side of a two way highway and no insurance. No ambulance transport was needed at the scene.
