It started January 20th, when 26-year-old Astyn Rouse of Fort Atkinson was taken into custody by Sheriff's Deputies in connection with an incident in Highlandville. She was charged with 3rd Degree Burglary and Controlled Substance Violation-Marijuana with the intent to manufacture or deliver, both Class D Felonies, and for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth, a Serious Misdemeanor.
Then on January 28th, Rouse was charged with 5th Degree Criminal Mischief and with Interference with Official Acts. The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says Rouse destroyed jail property, then interfered with the actions of the jail staff.
Now the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says Rouse has been charged with another count of Interference with Official Acts for an incident Wednesday night in which she allegedly tried to assault a Winneshiek County Jailer.
Rouse now faces six criminal charges--two of which were filed against her while she was in jail. Rouse remains at the Winneshiek County Jail.
