Luther College's Second Annual Unity Bowl for Special Olympics has been nominated for the Division III NCAA Special Olympics February Spotlight Poll.  It is one of three events nominated.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) event was held in December. At the event, 46 Special Olympic athletes from Decorah and Northeast Iowa joined Luther College athletes for an afternoon of entertainment that included watching a basketball game and then going to Oneota Lanes in Decorah for some bowling and pizza.

The event receiving the highest number of votes wins and the winning institution will be awarded $500 to use for their next Special Olympics event. The winner will also be recognized in the Division III monthly newsletter and on the Division III homepage.

Luther won the poll in 2015 and received $500, which was used to fund the 2016 event. The SAAC hopes to win again to fund their 2017 Unity Bowl.

Voting is open now through February 25th (polls close at midnight Eastern Time). Voters can vote each day.
