Andy Hageman is Winneshiek County's newest Sheriff's Deputy.
Hageman grew up on a family farm outside of Fort Atkinson and graduated from South Winn High School in 2007. Following high school he attended NICC in Calmar and joined the United State Army Reserves, where he deployed to Afghanistan in 2011. In 2015 Andy was hired with the Calmar/Ossian Police Department.
Hageman had been serving as the second police officer in Calmar and Ossian. Those two towns reached an agreement that the Sheriff's Department would provide after-hours coverage in Calmar and Ossian but that the two towns in exchange would pay the Sheriff's Department $22 per year per city resident to help cover the cost of law enforcement coverage. Hageman will be one of the deputies providing a total of 1,040 hours of coverage each year in Calmar and Ossian, but that task with be split with other deputies as well.
(Note: this clarifies that other deputies in addition to Hageman will be providing coverage to Calmar and Ossian)
