Students are asked to review "Decorah High School Winter Events Expectations"

Decorah parents and students have received an e-mail from Decorah High School Athletic Director Adam Riley with a copy of student expectations at DHS winter events attached.

When asked to comment further on the email, Riley said, "We have had a few situations arise in which some middle school and elementary students have been in places in the building (practice gym and cafeteria) unsupervised and caused damage.  Additionally, play had to be stopped twice during Monday night's game due to items coming onto the floor.  We have to make sure for the safety of the athletes and officials that these things don't happen, and thus the prompting of a reminder to students and parents with the hopes that everyone will be more vigilant when at games. We have some parents who drop their kids off at games and leave them unsupervised, which we strongly discourage."

The document states at the bottom, "The staff of the Decorah Community Schools thanks all students and parents for their support of all those involved in activities. We ask that those attending activities watch and support those participating in the contests and look forward to having members of the student bodies at games to cheer on the Vikings and help bring home a victory!"
