"Pints and Postcards" campaign kicks off in Decorah

A number of Decorah community members have started a campaign to write postcards to their elected representatives at both the state and national level.

"Pints and Postcards" met for the first time over the week. The organizers of the event provided stamps, postcards, writing utensils, and the addresses of Northeast Iowa's elected officials. Participants took it from there, writing about the issues that matter most to them. Over 120 individuals attended the event, which generated 513 postcards.

Event organizer Johanna Bergan said, "Our community is hungry to be involved in our state and national policy. This was a simple and effective way to get started."
