Ask Mr. Answer Person about RAGBRAI and Nordic Fest taking place at the same time

John e-mails: "Do you think RAGBRAI needs any persuasion to avoid bringing bikers into Decorah while Nordic Fest is happening?"

The fact that RAGBRAI will make overnight stops in Cresco, Waukon and Lansing--but not Decorah--shows the RAGBRAI planners are well aware of the scheduling of Nordic Fest.

However, the bike trip has to go somewhere to get from Cresco to Waukon, so it's very likely part of Winneshiek County will see bike riders.  It's also not unlikely that some RAGBRAI riders will make a stop in Decorah, either as an alternate overnight stop or as a mid-day stop on Friday.

If it all works out well--and both RAGBRAI and Nordic Fest planners have had over 40 years of experience--Decorah should be able to handle both Nordic Fest and a few extra visitors from RAGBRAI.
