Decorah's Women's March organizers are encouraged and poised for more

Decorah Women's March organizer Shirley Vermace says she is awestruck by the number of participants that came out to march on Saturday morning in Decorah. She estimates there were anywhere from 600 - 1,000 people involved. Vermace says she has been receiving many emails, texts, and Facebook messages from individuals wondering what they can do next.

Vermace says she and the other Decorah march organizers, Ruth Jenkins and Ellen Rockne, want to, "Capture the momentum and harness the passion that was evident on Saturday. The march was not the end, but the spark to begin action."

Future plans are still uncertain, but Vermace is sure there will be other events and opportunities for people in the Diftless Region. "We want to take care of our area. It's where we are, so we will start here."
