Magpie gets some publicity from an Iowa travel blogger

A Decorah restaurant is getting some love from an Iowa travel blogger. Magpie's Dug Road sandwich has been nominated as one of the entries in Iowa Gallivant's 2017 "Iowa Sandwich Masters" contest.

Writer JayJay Goodvin visited Decorah over the Christmas holiday and posted his reactions at http://theiowagallivant.com. Now he has written a separate post praising the Magpie sandwich. Goodvin says Magpi "presented their proud Dug Road sandwich with roast beef, caramelized onions, cilantro, muenster cheese, and garlic aioli on that toasted marbled rye bread I love so much."

Will the Dug Road sandwich win the contest? Goodvin says the contest will run all year, so you'll have to wait until 2018 to learn the answer to that question.
