Fort Atkinson resident is back in jail

In December, Fort Atkinson resident Steven Anderson--then 39 years old--was one of ten people arrested by Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies in a raid on a home in rural Fort Atkinson.  Anderson was charged with keeping premises or vehicle for controlled substance, felony possession of controlled substance (marijuana) third or subsequent offense and felony possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) third or subsequent offense.

Bond for Anderson was initially set at $7,500.  However, Magistrate Charles Kelly later lowered bond to $750.  Anderson paid the bond and was released from the Winneshiek County Jail.

Two days later Anderson was scheduled to appear at another hearing--but he failed to appear.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department announced on Monday that deputies found Anderson on Friday afternoon and took him into custody in the Winneshiek County Jail.  Anderson appeared before Magistrate Justin Vorwald, who ordered Anderson held without bail.
