Local chapter of "Knitted Knockers" is kicking off

Posted: Thu, Jan 19, 2017 12:11 PM

Knitted Knockers is an initiative that provides soft, comfortable, knit prosthetics for breast cancer survivors, free of charge.

Visit www.knittedknockers.org to learn more about the national organization, and join us as we kick off a local chapter in Decorah.

Saturday, January 28th the Knitted Knockers will meet at the Blue Heron Knittery, 300 West Water Street, from 9:00 a.m until noon.

Bring a set of 7"-8" double point needles in size 4 or 5. Acceptable yarns are listed on the website or may be purchased at the knit-in at Blue Heron Knittery. If you don't want to knit but want to help, drop by during the knit-in or contact Rhonda Thompson at rthompson52101@hotmail com or 563-419-2339.

Don't despair if you crochet rather than knit. While instruction won't be provided, you may pick up a pattern and join the knitters!
