Decorah City Council members could be considering a new regulation that would affect trucks "neither having a terminal in (Decorah) nor making a delivery (in Decorah)."
Trucks above a certain weight would be banned from traveling through Decorah by using Montgomery Street, Water Street and College Drive and would instead be required to use Highway 9 and Highway 52.
The regulation has been sent to the city's Streets Committee for its recommendation, which could come in time for the next city council meeting.
The wording of the proposal says the regulations would be "in the best interest of the citizens for public safety to prohibit through truck traffic at certain locations."
