Winneshiek Medical Center participates in the Giving Wreath program

For 23 years, Winneshiek Medical Center doctors and staff have been supporting families seeking a brighter Christmas through the Giving Wreath program, a program coordinated with Northeast Iowa Community Action.  This year, the medical center sponsored five local families.

The WMC radiology staff coordinated the effort, which included distributing tags, collecting gifts and delivering them to the Northeast Iowa Community Action offices. WMC director of Radiology Sarah Urmanski says, "Our staff have been very generous, with some taking two and three tags this year. People really went all out for families they have never even met."

WMC Radiology technician Nicole Poirier is one of the coordinators of this year's Giving Wreath program. She says, "It is heartwarming to see such an amazing collection of gifts. I am so pleased to be part of such a meaningful project this holiday season."
