Members from the Area Council of Churches in Minnesota and Iowa have been serving lunch to Winneshiek County Habitat for Humanity (WCHFH) volunteers every Tuesday since September.
The Area Council of Churches consists of eleven churches. The group was developed in order for churches to be able to do things together that they could not do separately. The Hesper Friends Church had been a member of the Area Council of Churches before the congregation voted to donate their building to WCHFH. Now the church building is in the process of being renovated as a home for its 31st partner family, Holly Dahl and her two daughters.
WCHFH volunteers work at the housing site most Tuesdays and Saturdays, and the food provided by the members of the Area Council of Churches has been "warm, filling, and gratefully consumed."
