DAR packs boxes for military personnel and veterans

Packing boxes at the DAR meeting are Rebecca McCabe of Cresco, Mindy Rhode of Hawkeye, and Wendy Novak of Decorah.

Members of the Northeast Iowa chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution have packed several boxes of items to be sent to active duty military personnel serving in Afghanistan and Kuwait. These will go to service men whose names have been brought forward by members of the chapter and will include enough contents to share with their unit members.

Also the DAR members have been making quilted Christmas stockings, which they filled with various stocking stuffer items and will distribute to veterans in several care centers across northeast Iowa.  Sixty-six veterans at nine facilities will receive these stockings.
