When the Board of Trustees of Winneshiek Medical Center meets on Wednesday evening, there will be a new face seated at the table. Tim Schweizer won election to the board in November as a write-in candidate.
After a community member approached Tim Schweizer, making him aware of the opening on the board of trustees, he decided he could serve his community in that position.
As a professor of Business and Economics at Luther College, one of Schweizer's duties is providing training in problem solving and approaching situations in different ways. He tells decorahnews.com he believes a couple other of his strengths are his creativity, his innovation and his ability to see the big picture.
Schweizer says, "I think it will be good to serve on this type of board for personal experience. I have several extended family members working in the medical field and I appreciate the impact WMC has on our community. Decorah is a vibrant community and part of my motivation is to keep it that way."
