A Facebook video posted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department has gone viral.
Sheriff's Deputy Mike Foland has been collecting video taken while he has been patrolling at night. He has learned driving that during the fall season in Winneshiek County is much like driving on an obstacle course because of all his encounters with animals.
Sheriff Dan Marx says the intent of the video is to increase awareness of deer and other wildlife on roadways that are causing a great deal of accidents. In fact, he says there have been 90 accidents in the past month involving vehicles and animals.
So far there have been 28,000 views of the video, making it one of the most viewed Facebook videos in Iowa.
