Winneshiek Medical Center honored

Winneshiek Medical Center is being recognized for overall excellence as a rural acute care hospital.

The National Organization of State Office of Rural Health and iVantage Health Analytics has recognized WMC for landing in the top 25 percent of rural actue care hospitals in the categories of patient satisfaction, outcomes and quality.

Using data from public sources, the ranking uses 66 individual metrics, combining them into three major categories to derive a single strength overall rating for each facility.

So far this year, Winneshiek Medical Center has been named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by iVantage, a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital by the National Rural Health Association and one of 50 Critical Access Hospitals to Know by Becker's Hospital Review.
