Members of the Decorah Planning & Zoning Commission say they'd like to hold a joint meeting with the Decorah School Board to discuss the proposed new elementary school on College Drive.
Decorah School Board members expressed enthusiasm Monday night for the proposed location. But City P & Z members say there will be several steps necessary in order for the project to occur. First, the property would have to be rezoned to allow a school to be built on the location. Then school officials would have to present a site plan to the City of Decorah which would detail all the changes the school district would be proposing.
City Planning & Zoning Commission members say they're not opposed to the location--they just want to make sure the project is developed properly if it receives a go-ahead from Luther College officials.
