Decorah High School hosted their 16th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast and Program for Veterans and their families on Friday.
The DHS Wind Ensemble and the DHS Concert Choir performed. DHS students created a multi media presentation with a focus on poetry that honored the sacrifices and contributions of veterans.
Local quilters presented Quilts of Valor to area veterans. Since 2014 they have awarded 145 quilts to Winneshiek County veterans.
Calmar veteran Larry Lee, who served in Vietnam, tries to attend the veteran's program each year. He especially enjoyed watching the sign language interpreter as she interprets the program, listening to the wind ensemble and the Quilts of Valor presentation this year.
