City Council approves more tax abatements

The Decorah City council has approved another list of tax abatements for Decorah property owners who have built new homes or have made major renovations.

2015 residential tax abatements for new residential housing starts, which are eligible for the full five-year 100 percent abatement of property taxes, have been awarded to:

--Mike Kelly / Craig Symons, 1708 East Hill Road
--Kevin and Jana Albers, 1112 Linden Street
--Jean Cardinal and Margaret Heyden, 1005 Bruening Drive
--Linda Sneller, 2395 Aspen Lane Road
--James and Wendy Jermier, 2411 Red Oak Road
 
A tax abatement for an improvement project has been awarded to James and Elizabeth Fritz, 704 North Street.
