NBC News has reported that Newt Gingrich is one of the people being considered by President-Elect Donald Trump to serve as Secretary of State. But for now, it's Gingrich's wife, Luther College graduate Calista Gingrich, who is making the news.
The Gingrich Foundation has announced that it has made a $25,000 gift to establish the Newt L. and Callista L. Gingrich Scholarship at Luther College. The scholarships would be given to instrumental music majors studying piano, organ or wind instruments. Students will use the scholarship funds to pay for individual music lessons.
"This gift will provide students with instrumental music study opportunities that will help them reach their goals in music performance and education," said Luther officials. "Luther College is grateful to the Gingrich Foundation and to Newt and Callista Gingrich for their generous scholarship support."
Said Callista Gingrich, "We are excited to provide instrumental music lessons to talented students in need of assistance."
