Political yard signs are being recycled in Freeport

Posted: Thu, Nov 10, 2016 11:41 AM

Winneshiek County Recycling Manager Terry Buenzow has a container at Winneshiek Recycling Center for any political signs needing to be recycled.

Signs have been slowly trickling in as local candidates often reuse their signs and presidential signs are saved by individuals as souvenirs.

Politcal signs are recycled and used in various ways. The corrugated plastic signs are used to line the bales of clothing. They are then shipped to Canada and exported for reuse.
