October was another warm month in Decorah

Decorah meteorologist Richard Bernatz says October was another warm month in Decorah.

Bernatz says the average temperature in Decorah in October was 54.9 degrees.  That was 4.3 degrees warmer than average.  That made this October the 16th warmest October in 123 years.

October's warmest temperature was 76 degrees on the 11th, 12th, and 18th; the coldest temperature was 28 degrees on the 13th and 21st.  Only 6 years have had a later first sub 33 degree reading

There was a total of 2.76 inches of rain in October--0.4 inches above average.  The greatest 24-hour total was 2.43 inches on the 26th.
