Iowa Youth Straw Poll of Decorah Middle School students ends in a dead heat!

The results are in from the Iowa Youth Straw Poll of presidential election candidate preferences taken at Decorah Middle School.

You can't get any closer than this--237 MIddle School students "voted" for Republican Donald Trump, while 237 other students voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton.  Another 43 students voted for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson or another third party candidate, while 53 others did not vote.

The classrooms at Decorah Middle School were set up with "electoral votes."  Under those rules, Hillary Clinton was the winner, 55-39.

The Iowa Youth Straw Poll is a program of the Iowa Secretary of State, designed to get students interested in the electoral process.
