Iowa Tourism Council awards a grant to Decorah's ArtHaus

The Iowa Tourism Office has awarded ArtHaus a $1,000 grant to undertake the production of an adult coloring book featuring iconic attractions of Winneshiek County.

The project, entitled "A Colorable Travel Guide to Winneshiek County, IA," will highlight the beauty and uniqueness of the region with original black and white illustrations by local artist Lauren Bonney. The project is also sponsored in part by Agora Arts.

The 20-page book will feature attractions such as as the Vesterheim Norwegian American Museum, Seed Savers Exchange, Trout Run Trail, the Decorah Fish Hatchery, Chimney Rock, the Bily Clock Museum, and more, along with a map of Winneshiek County and information about the Driftless Region.

The project is on target to be printed and released later this year. Copies can be reserved at www.arthausdecorah.org or by mailing $15 per copy along with contact information to ArtHaus, 508 W Water St, Decorah, IA, 52101. Schools, non-profits and local businesses should contact ArtHaus to discuss reduced rates and distribution partnerships.
