Nearly 500 people took advantage of a satellite voting station operated on two days at the Luther College Student Union.

Winneshiek County Auditor Ben Steines says voters cast 248 ballots on Tuesday this week--111 cast by registered Democrats, 10 cast by registered Republicans and 127 cast by voters without a party.

When those totals are combined with results from a satellite voting station operated on October 12th, a total of 481 ballots were cast.  Of those, 244 ballots were cast by registered Democrats (51 percent), 14 by registered Republicans (3 percent) and 223 by voters without a party affiliation (46 percent).
