Some Northeast Iowans are supporting a fifth candidate for President

Polls have shown the majority of Americans have doubts about both the Republican and Democratic Party candidates for President.  That has caused a lot of people to examine other Presidential candidates this year.

Most of the attention has centered on LIbertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein.  But some Northeast Iowans are promoting the campaign of Evan McMullin, an independent candidate who is in a three-way tie with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in Utah.

McMullin is a former CIA counterterrorism and intelligence officer in the Middle East who was dissatisfied with the choices voters had, so he decided to launch a campaign.

Volunteers in Northeast Iowa have been posting Facebook messages and also plan to attend a rally for McMullin at 4:00 p.m. Friday in Des Moines.
