Decorah Librarian Lorraine Borowski has been named the Iowa Library Association's "Member of the Year."
The award was announced this month at the organization's statewide conference held in Dubuque.
Borowski says "I didn't know anything about it" before the award was announced. She tells decorahnews.com she sat in the audience wondering who the speaker was talking about at first.
Borowski is a recent Past President of the Iowa Library Association. She was named for the honor in recognition for her work for the statewide group and for her work at the Decorah Library--she has been at the library for more than 25 years, starting at the circulation desk and working her way up to being Director.
