The College Drive Casey's in Decorah has finished 30th out of a total of 460 Casey's convenience stores in an effort to raise funds to donate to a project to pay for public art along scenic byways in Iowa.

"The Decorah Casey's on College Drive raised a significant contribution amount, ranking in the top 7 percent of the 460 stores in Iowa,"  said Northeast Iowa RC&D Scenic Byway Coordinator Jared Neilson.  He added the donations in Decorah "shows the level of interest people are expressing in scenic byways and public art within Northeast Iowa."

To date, Casey's General Stores has contributed $28,347.06 to the Byways of Iowa Foundation to help pay for public art.  Casey's is just one partner in a larger fundraising effort to support the installation of public art in communities across the state. Through this project, community members from 15 to 20 Iowa communities along scenic byways will work with local artists to develop and fabricate public art that reflects the story, history, and vitality of their communities.
